Hanko - The best waters Finland has to offer

Join us on a diving trip to Finland’s best waters in Hanko. Our diving trips suit all levels

of divers: whether you are a seasoned sailor of the seven seas or a freshman just joined

the sport - you are very welcomed to join us to find exciting adventures and experiences

under the Baltic.

You are welcomed to come together with your buddy and for experienced divers we offer

a briefing and surface support, and you can explore by yourself. We also have

experienced professionals as divemasters available to join on an underwater tour. We

also provide a full range of PADI courses if you'd like to increase your diving skills -

Book yourself on board - a diving weekend is probably the best thing you can do wearing

a wet- or dry suit.

On board you will be taken care by Hanko Diving’s captain, who is familiar with diving safety and Aalto Diving School’s divemasters and instructors, who know the dive sites like their backyards.

WHAT CAN I SEE?

Hanko is, as written before, provides one of the most clear visibility the Baltic has to

offer here in the Finnish waters.

Only a short boat ride from the shore you will find loads of interesting bio diving sites

with the beautiful and rugged underwater scenery and the diverse modest marine life

that is signature for our side of the Baltic.

The ultimate highlight is without saying the unique wrecks preserved by the chilly, dark

Baltic low in salinity. The oldest wooden wrecks available are reachable by a short boat

ride from our home pier: after fifteen minutes of drive time you will reach the Cable

Wreck (sunk 1647-1648) at Hauensuoli (“Pike’s gut”) wreck park area. One of the most

impressive wreck dives are offered by the magnificent Bow Figure wreck (the wreck of

Elisabeth & Osborne) - all of these wrecks ly at 18m or shallower.

Experience something unique - join in!

Travel expenses from your home to Hanko and snacks on board must be provided by the

diver him- / herself. The price of the trip does not include accommodation,  air fills or personal diving

equipment. Please bring along enough water for yourself to drink and the amount of

personal field lunch, that you have the energy to dive the whole day.

EQUIPMENT:

On behalf of every diver we expect them to have the following diving equipment with

them - we are happy to offer for rent equipment lacking (permitting the divers

know-how) or assist on shopping the equipment for themselves:

• ABC’s; mask,snorkel, open heel fins (and if you have a thick wet suit, you will need

booties as well) and gloves (neoprene- or dry gloves).

• SMB, spool, and a proper torch.

These pieces of equipment are available for rent:

- BCD (wing style)

- Regulator set

- dive computer and -compass

- dry suit, undersuit and a proper hood (minimum of 5mm)

(If you want to rent a dry suit, please show proof of your experience by your logbook

and / or your Dry Suit certificate card ).

If you need, we also have these pieces of equipment on request:

- wetsuit 5+5 mm

- weight belt + weights

- cylinders

- equipment box

Our diving vessel

Our diving vessel is a proper Finnish made Kulkuri 34 modelled vessel Atlanta, who is skippered by Hanko Diving’s best captains, who are educated divewise regarding emergency oxygen providing and even some of the captains are diving instructors themselves. All of the captains are familiar on the local waters and it’s sea conditions.

Our vessel fits 10 divers on board along with our staff. The dive boat includes proper

dressing seats with safe mounting features for your scuba gear. Climbing on board is a

pleasure with nice tailored diving ladders on the back of the boat, which you can use to

climb back to the vessel with or without your gear - you decide.

You may travel on board inside the cabin or outside on the deck admiring the beautiful

Hanko archipelago in fresh air. You can place your personal belongings in the beak of the

boat to avoid them to get wet in case of rough seas.

Other feature include a WC, electricity, VHF, mini-integrated bridge, sonar, radar, map

plotter and a GPS.

Atlanta will be waiting for eager divers every weekend morning on the Hanko Eastern

Ports pier.

We apply to the terms of Finnish Competition and Consumer Authority’s terms of

cancellation:

Registrations are valid as done. To fully confirm your trip, the trip must be

payed.

• Cancellation terms: 14 days.
• Later than 14 days after BUT before 48 hours prior of departure you may cancel your trip by paying 50% of full payment.
• If the trip is cancelled closer than 48 prior departure you are obligated to pay the full price of the trip - if you have a doctors certificate this can be overlooked.

After the dives: get into jail!

After the dive day you’ll have a nice rest in Hotel Bulevard, which is a renovated ex

police station in Hanko situated in the very center of the city.

The hotel is comfortable, neat, tidy and nice with a great staff and excellent breakfast.

The accommodation includes:

• Accommodation in comfortable hostel -style rooms
• Sauna after dives
• A nice breakfast on Sunday before the second dive day.

Hotel Bulevard accommodates our divers in 1-4 persons rooms.

We claim our rights to common changes. The boat will leave from it’s dock with a
