KISKO QUARRY

Kiskon quarry is located in Salo, about 1.5h drive from Helsinki.

Kisko is a nice place to practise ice diving, and we also use this often, if we need more than 18 meters of depth for workshops etc. This isn't megadeep - You'll find 21 meters conviniently, 23 meters if you are clever.

The highlights of the dive are beautifully shimmering walls and additional crayfish, perch and roaches.
There might even be some hidden artefacts from the surface-dweller's world. world.dweller's

We have referred this driving direction from Riihimäen Urheilukeltajat -dive club's pages. The original source can be found HERE

The quarry is about 30m x 70m -sized quarry. The side facing the road is almost a vertical wall down to 21 meters. The opposite side of the quarry is filled with boulder soil and therefore a bit shallower.
The visibility is about 2-5 meters, the better side being found in the winter time usually.

You'll get ti the site by car - you can nearly jump with your gear ti the water.

The closest address you can put in your navigator is Viiarintie, Salo. While driving to the querry Viiarintie turns right, but continue driving STRAIGHT. After a couple of hundread meters you are there.

A view from the road to the querry. You see it literally starts on the road side.
